Day 2

After completing lesson Test drive #2 as a team, I couldn’t believe what you could do on flicker. I have never touched in this technology before. I now see the benefit of signing up to flicker and sharing photos with my family overseas.

Also for us a way to market our programs here at State Library of Queensland – such as the corner, summer reading club and young writers day camp.

I found the training package helpful but way to basic, it makes the person training this course have to add more content to allow people to get a better understand of the course.

I found with the knowledge in the Children and Young Peoples Program team at a basic level. But I felt that the team picked this up pretty quickly.

Day 1

Today Monday 18/05/09 was the first ever day I felt scared about learning a new piece of technology. I normally pick these things up pretty easy being 22 years old but I was worried, about starting my 4th email address.

Managing both a blog and a facebook wall.

I found the learning experience of creating a new email address with Gmail difficult, as I couldn’t read the word at the bottom of the screen.

With a few pointers from Mary I was able to setup a basic blog.

The next day at our team Staff meeting, I was asked to organise a session to help my team Children and Young Peoples Program with the creation of blogs for each of them.

I jumped at the chance to teach my team some new skills and it gave me the chance to learn some skills on becoming a trainer.

I learnt from the teaching of licence to drive the benefits of creating a blog and showing of the learning achieved.
